This page describes how Wild Card Game Schedule decides what to publish. It applies to every factual page on the site.
Sources we use
| Type | Examples | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| League announcements | NFL Football Operations schedule and format releases; MLB.com playoff format and broadcast announcements | Dates, formats, rules, broadcasters |
| Reference encyclopaedia entries | Wikipedia articles on the NFL playoffs, individual postseasons, and the Wild Card Series | Historical results, scores, appearance records |
Every factual page ends with a short “Sources” line naming the specific sources used for that page. Rules and tiebreaking procedures are traced back to the league’s own published documents wherever they are quoted in a reference entry.
Rules we hold ourselves to
- Nothing invented. If a date, matchup, start time, network, score or statistic has not been officially announced or is not present in our sources, the page says “To be announced” or omits it.
- No projections. We do not publish predicted matchups, playoff percentages, betting odds, rumours, insider reports or quotes we cannot source.
- Disputed numbers are dropped. When sources conflict, or when a single source is internally inconsistent, we leave the figure out rather than choose one. For example, we list a team’s individual wild card appearances one by one instead of repeating an aggregate win-loss figure that does not reconcile with those appearances.
- Completed results only. Scores are published after games finish. We do not run live scores.
- Dates are visible. Every page shows when it was last reviewed, so you can judge how current it is.
What a correction looks like
If we get something wrong, we fix the text and update the page’s “last updated” date. For a factual error that changes the meaning of a page — a wrong score, a wrong date, a misattributed result — we also note the change at the foot of the page.
To request a correction, email [email protected] with:
- The address of the page.
- The sentence or table row you believe is wrong.
- A source we can check.
We aim to respond within five working days. Corrections backed by an official league source are made as soon as we have verified them.
Independence
We are not affiliated with the NFL, MLB, any club or any broadcaster. The site carries no advertising, no sponsored content, no affiliate links, no analytics and no third-party scripts. Nothing on this page or elsewhere on the site is betting advice.
Known limitations
Our sources cover the wild card round itself far better than they cover every team’s full season. Where a source gives a team’s seed, record or clinching date, we use it; where it does not, we leave that detail out rather than infer it. Current-season standings and unplayed matchups are never listed, by design.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
How do I request a correction?
Email [email protected] with the page address, the sentence you believe is wrong and a source. We aim to reply within five working days.
Why does a page say 'to be announced' instead of giving a date?
Because the league has not announced it. We do not fill gaps with projections, and we update the page when the official announcement appears.
