Wild Card Game Schedule is a reference site about one thing: the wild card round of the NFL and Major League Baseball playoffs. It exists because the round is confusing by design — two sports use the same phrase for different formats, and MLB changed its format twice in five years — and because most search results for “wild card game” during playoff season are projections dressed up as schedules.
What we cover
- NFL Wild Card Weekend: the format, seeding, tiebreakers, overtime rules, confirmed playoff dates and results from recent seasons.
- MLB Wild Card Series: the best-of-three format, the single-game era that preceded it, the 2026 series in detail and the complete results archive.
- Team pages for the clubs that appear in the round most often, each listing every appearance with venue and result.
How we handle unannounced information
The most useful thing a schedule site can do is admit what it does not know. The NFL announces its postseason dates months in advance but does not announce matchups, kickoff times or networks until the regular season is over. On this site, those fields say “To be announced” and stay that way until the league publishes them.
We do not publish projected matchups, playoff odds, betting lines or rumours, and we do not present a prediction as a schedule entry. If a number is disputed between sources, we leave it out rather than pick one. The full standard is on our editorial policy page.
Where the facts come from
Every factual page ends with a short list of the sources used for it. In practice those are league announcements — NFL Football Operations and MLB.com — and reference encyclopaedia entries for historical results. If something cannot be traced to one of those, it does not go on the page.
Who runs it
The site is written and edited by the Wild Card Desk, a small independent editorial team. We are not affiliated with the National Football League, Major League Baseball, any club, or any broadcaster, and we are not a ticketing or betting service. There is no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking on this site.
